According to the Bible, the cross symbolizes death. First it symbolizes the death of Christ in our stead--Philippians 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

It also indicates shame, because the cross was the punishment for criminals--Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

It represents the power of God--1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

It represents our freedom from the law--Colossians 2: 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

It represents justification--Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

It represents peace with God--Colossians 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

And it represents dying to ourselves--Matthew 16: 24Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

The holy cross symbolises the death of Jesus Christ who died and then rose again most Christians wear one.

Answer:

The word "cross" is the English version of the Latin word "crux." Wherever the word "cross" appears in the KJV New Testament... the originally inspired word in the original manuscripts is the Greek "stauros" [a stake or upright pale]... not the Latin "crux." The KJV translators took "crux" straight from the "Latin Vulgate" version of the scriptures during their work for King James, thus introducing the "cross" symbol to what was to become the modern professing Christian religion.

The symbol of the "cross" predates Christianity, however, and comes from the ancient Babylonian religious custom of "crossing oneself" with one's hand in a "T" motion in worshipful deference [polite respect] for "Tammuz" -- their god's [dead and supposedly resurrected] son.

Ezekiel, one of God's prophets of record during the Babylonian captivity of the Jews... records the "Jews" observing certain religious Babylonian customs long before Jesus was born.

"He said unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do. Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lord's House [the Temple] which was toward the north; and , behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz." (Ezek.8:13-14)

The "cross" [the T, or the Tau] was a religious symbol in ancient Babylon centuries before it was adopted by deceived modern professing Christianity. It was a "hand-crossing gesture," even then for the people, weeping for the "queen mother's son, Tammuz"... who died before his time... yet lived on in the equally symbolic religious Babylonian custom and tradition of Tammuz resurrecting in the spirits of trees [see Jeremiah 10:1-4]... which modern professing Christianity also adapted to the "Christmas tree," in spite of God's command not to learn it.

No. The Ku Klux Klan burning a cross symbolize does not symbolize a declaration of war.
