The first verses of Romans list Paul, a bondservant and apostle as the writer of this letter to the Church of God @ Rome. Paul had not visited the area at the time of his writing this letter.
Galatians 1:10 - For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.1 Thessalonians 2:4 - But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts.[NKJV]
I don't know if the actual word is found in the Bible, but the concept is. The first instance is in Exodus 21.Exodus 21:6 (NKJV)6 then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost, and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever. Here the person becomes a bondservant (willing servant/slave) and is literally "earmarked."
Here in this verse Jesus is revealed as a human. In the following verse we can see this clearly. Php 2:6-8 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
I think no. Paul often states that his purpose is to please God:1Th 4:1 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus that you should abound more and more, just as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God;In these verse Paul says he does not please men:Gal 1:10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.Gal 1:11 But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.
It mean what you don't what does it mean.
Mean is the average.
