This is a personal prayer to Jehovah giving one's self wholly to him, all that one has or is. He does this out of love for Jehovah. (Matthew 22:37)

This does not mean that a person neglects himself or his family or other responsibilities he may have; it means that he considers Jehovah's view on the matter when making decisions, and that he always puts Jehovah's interests ahead of his own. (Matthew 6:33; 1 Timothy 5:8)

It also includes following Jehovah's Son, Jesus, because he died for us that we would live for him. One lives no longer for ones'self, but disowns himself for Christ and for God. - Matthew 16:24 & 2 Corinthians 5:14, 15.
