What does luke chapter 4 verse 9 mean?

v18. The Holy Ghost came upon me and he has given me authority to tell the people about the gospel of Christ. To the poor and afflicted, the humble and to all those in need. T bind up the hearts of those who are downhearted with the news that the Lord will come and free them from their afflictions. He has told me to tell them that their dead will rise again and they can be once again families.

v19 Christ will come not to judge the world but to save it.. That He speaks not of himself but of the Father for He has commanded me to preach His words in the day when they are most needed.

Luke 4:9

9And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

It means the devil was taunting Jesus to prove Who He was, when Jesus already knew Who He was. Because He went with him, it means that Jesus was disposed to entertain the devil's attempt to provoke Him to sin. And, that given His human nature and divine origin in a mundane setting, the devil was want to provoke Him along a line that required an outlandish location with an outlandish proposition. It also means that Jesus would have had to submit Himself, not only to the devil's suggestion, but He would also have had to submit Himself to the force of gravity.
