What does the Bible say about going to church twice on Sundays?

In the King James version ....

The word "Sunday" is not mentioned. The equiivalent is "Sabbath", and that word appears 136 times - but neither the word 'twice' nor the word "church" appear in any of those verses, and the only mention of 'temple' is not relevant to the question.

God command us to meet in worship, I don't want a big debate here but Messiah went on the Sabbath (Saturday) and 1Peter 2:21 says "Follow in His Footsteps" as we all should try our best to do. All those Jewish things are very important, they all point to things that Happen and will Happen, the fall feast hasn't happen yet, we are in the feast of Shavuot(Pentecost) adding to the body daily, then the feast of Trumpets, when the Great Shofar (ram's horns) sounds and wakes the dead. Going back to a church who is not afraid to teach the Jewish Roots of our faith (Yeshua/Jesus was a Jew) then you will learn all these things like how in Zech.14 it talks about keeping the Feast of Tabernacles(Sukkot) during the Millennium. and much-much more! Find a Messianic congregation and your learn these things and why they are important to any believer that wants to be like their savior Yeshua 9His name not only means SALVATION, but broken down, His name means: 'SEE the NAIL in GOD ALMIGHTY's HAND'

Church is the gathering of the believers to worship God and edify each other, and The Bible exhorts us to continue therein in Hebrews 10.24 & 25:

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching

The early Church began primarily Jewish. They had been fully versed in the Sabbath and Annual Feast Days of God from the Old Covenant. Jesus followed all of these as did the Apostles and disciples of the 1st through 4th Centuries.

The Apostle Paul makes some very important statements about the purpose and the intent of the New Covenant. Namely, God did NOT establish the New Covenant to abolish His laws, which are holy and good (Romans 7:12). He established it to remedy the flaw that was in the people (Hebrews 8:8), our weaknesses, disobedience and lack of faith we inherit that leads to sin (Romans 3:10-18). God gives us His Holy Spirit to empower us to develop holy and righteous character that can resist the temptation and the pulls to sin.

In the 4th Century, Rome broke from anything 'Jewish.' Some historians call these dramatic changes 'Progressive Revelation.' This concept allowed the Church of Rome leaders to revise doctrine to suit their perceptions of church needs instead of adhering strictly to the teachings handed down by the Apostles. Eventually, the entire way of life, lived and taught by the Apostles, was steadily abandoned until what most consider the Christian religion bore little resemblance to the original apostolic teachings.

The Scriptures indicate that Church attendance is akin to Sabbath attendance in the days of Christ and the Apostles. Nothing was changed except Christ's giving us the New Passover symbols as He became our Passover.
