To the best of my knowledge, the Catholic Church, of course, believes that the Apostles spoke in tongues, such that, each person who heard them could understand what they were saying. The gift of tongues is given to someone for the benefit of someone else - NOT for the speaker. The current trend of people babbling away in something not understood by anyone is more likely a sign of demonic activity, not the Lord. Remember that the Church is always in conformity with the Holy Spirit, as it is the Holy Spirit who guides Christ's body: the Catholic Church. Thus there can be no discrepancy between the Church's belief and God's gift to His people.

What is the difference between a Pentecostal church and a SDA church?

The main difference between a Pentecostal church and a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) church lies in their beliefs and practices. Pentecostal churches emphasize the gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and divine healing, and often have a more expressive style of worship. On the other hand, SDA churches focus on observing the Sabbath on Saturday, following a healthful lifestyle, and believing in the imminent return of Jesus Christ. Additionally, Pentecostal churches tend to have a more decentralized structure, while SDA churches have a more centralized organization.

List of differences between pentecostal church and Roman Catholic church?

Some not all Catholics can be pentecostal , most are not. Pentecostal Christians recognize the value of the Holy Spirit today in our lives. All Catholics believe in the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, too! Pentecostals focus a lot on 'speaking in tongues' even though it is one of the lesser gifts. They really like to focus mainly on Acts in the New Testament and forget that there is the Old Testament and many other books to learn and pray on.

The Pentecostal Church is actually the fastest growing church, sucking up numerous disheartened Catholics, who are still the VAST majority of the population and as far as I know, they are still the next fastest growing, as any growth in the population is an increase for the Catholic Church.
