Sonship means to be given the full rights, authority, staus and place, position of a son. Galatians 4:1-5 describes a true son at birth differs not from the privelleges of a slaveson however he is placed under guadianship of instructors until an appointed time. This appointed time is the recognition of maturity to carry the responsibilities of managing his fathers estate. The inheritance is his at birth however until training and maturity take place he is denied this office. Still a free son, but not yet given the responsibilty of this office. The Bible is using the Roman custom of sonship to explain our transition from slavery to sin, to sons and daughters of the living God. Sonship carries a twofold meaning; 1) Transfer into the family of God ie- adoption 2) Place of maturity to administer his fathers authority
