Fornication can also figuratively refer to SPIRITUAL immorality, where Revelation 18:2+3 speaks of "Babylon the Great" (the world empire of false religion) disloyally committing fornication with the world's political and commercial interests, and growing rich from her spiritual 'prostitution'. From THIS sort of fornication we are ALSO told to flee (Revelation 18:4+5).
