Four thousand years is too short a period for much to have changed in the natural world. Continental drift takes millions of years before we notice landmasses to be located elsewhere, so the continents would be more or less where they are now. Some erosion has occurred in the last four thausand years, so some river beds would be a little deeper. Volcanic activity has diminished noticeably.

Civilisations have arisen over the last four thousand years. Although there were already cities, particularly in the Near East, the Indus Valley and in China, many great cities have been built, destroyed and rebuilt over this period. The world has changed dramatically due to human intervention.
