When Mother Teresa began her work she could do little more than provide very basic care - food and shelter- to those left to die on the street. She and her sisters had little medical training and were not licensed as a hospital so could not provide treatment nor medications. As her order has grown as well as donations, she now has established clinics and hospitals that can provide proper treatment.
