Prayer is considered a great gift from God that is extremely personal and powerful . Jesus made many guidelines on how we should pray. At Matt. 6:5-13 he guides what kind of things prayers should contain and gives us the model prayer or the "Our Father Prayer". Emphasis was also put on perseverance in prayer by Jesus and Paul and to not give up but to keep on asking. Faith goes hand in hand with prayer. It is not considered a one way conversation because God has already spoken to us through The Bible. If we then ask for his help to listen to him, he will help us to do so.
