34:4 And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham,
unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee
to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
34:5 So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according
to the word of the LORD.
Moses was around 80 years old by this time.
He was a husband and a shepherd.
Moses was 40 years old when he ran from Egypt into the desert by himself and 80 when he returned back to Egypt. See Acts 7:23 and Acts 7:30.
Moses spent 40 years in Egypt and another 40 years outside Egypt with Jethro his father in law and 40 years in the dessert.
According to biblical accounts, Moses' wife, named Zipporah, is mentioned in the Book of Exodus. After Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, there is no further mention of Zipporah in the Bible, leading some scholars to believe that she may have returned to her father's house or passed away.
Moses was checking out of town.
He was born there (Exodus ch.2). When he grew up he had to flee since Pharaoh wanted to kill him (ibid.), but he returned to Egypt at the age of 79.
