Many believe that there were 2 guards out side of the tomb of Jesus Christ. But the Bible does not give an exact answer.
The story of the guards placed outside the tomb of Jesus is unique to Matthew's Gospel. The other gospels don't even mention guards; the disciples are free to just walk into the open tomb. Since the author of Matthew chose not to give them names, we will never know.
They were either going to try to roll it away themselves, or ask the guards to do it.
St. Joseph of Arimethea offered his tomb for the Body Of Jesus.
Jesus was found to have left the tomb.
Jesus was not in the tomb he had risen.
A man gave up his tomb (for when he died) to put Jesus in. I can't remember they man's name though.... When Jesus was deceased, they removed him from the cross, they then placed his body in a sealed cave that was protected by guards.
In fact, Peter only went to the tomb of Jesus in Luke and John, which are interdependent gospels. In Matthew, Jesus told the women to tell the disciples to go to Galilee, where he would meet them. Peter did not go to the tomb. In the "Long Ending" to Mark, the women told the disciples that Jesus had risen, but they did not believe. None of the disciples went to the tomb.
Jesus's tomb was safely secured by a very large and heavy stone. The killers of Jesus wanted to secure the body of Jesus because they didn't want anyone to steal his body. ( this is the info I have gotten/ can remember from the bible)
The Jesus Family Tomb was created in 2007.
