First Peter walked without fear on the water, but when he looked at the waves instead of Jesus ,he started to sink.

he breathed out
Peter got out of the boat when Jesus said "Come" and he walked on the water to go to Jesus. The narrative is found in Matthew 14:28.Walking on water is certainly impossible for humans so this was a miracle. The problem was that Peter took his eyes off Jesus and instead looked at the boisterous wind and and became frightened and started to sink, but Jesus instantly caught him and saved him. Jesus said to Peter, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"The intent of the story is that when the "storms" of life come we need to keep our eyes and faith alone on Jesus and not on the problem.
St. Peter, or Peter the apostle (as he is called in the New Testament) was one of Jesus' 12 disciples, and also one of Jesus' "inner circle" of 3 disciples, Peter, James and John. Jesus took these three with him up the mountain to the transfiguration (Matthew 17) As Jesus predicted, Peter betrayed Jesus by denying him, and was 'reinstated' by Jesus after the resurrection.
Indeed! And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, bid me come to you on the water." He said, "Come." So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. Mt 14:28-29 RSV CE
When Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a mountain, he was transfigured before them, and his appearance changed dramatically; his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became dazzling white. During this event, Moses and Elijah appeared, speaking with Jesus, which revealed his divine glory and affirmed his role as the Son of God. The disciples were frightened, and a voice from a bright cloud proclaimed, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." This moment is known as the Transfiguration and underscores Jesus' divine nature and authority.

After Jesus was crucified, Judas Iscariot, one of his disciples, felt remorse for betraying Jesus and ultimately took his own life by hanging himself.
The coming of Jesus into Peter's life changed the focus of Peter's fishing from fish to men. 16 Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he [Jesus] saw Simon [Peter] and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
