Genesis 3:19: "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For dust you are and to dust you will return."

Eccl. 9:10: "All that your hand finds to do, do with your very power, for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol, the place to which you are going."

Eccl. 9:5: "The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all."

Psalms 146:4: "His spirit goes out, he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish."

Ezekiel 18:4: "The soul that is sinning-it itself will die."

Eccl. 9:6: "Their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun."

Isaiah 26:14: "They are dead; they will not live. Impotent in death, they will not rise up."

  • With these scriptures being said, The Bible DOES offer hope!

John 5:28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. 30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative; just as I hear, I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Matthew 5:5 "Happy are the mild-tempered ones, since they will inherit the earth.

Acts 24:15 and I have hope toward God, which hope these [men] themselves also entertain, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Psalm 37:9-11 For evildoers themselves will be cut off, But those hoping in Jehovah are the ones that will possess the earth. 10 And just a little while longer, and the wicked one will be no more; And you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. 11 But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, And they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.

Revelation 21:3,4 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: "Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

There is an opportunity to see our loved ones again. We, as God's witnesses, believe that if we follow our lives by the Bible, we will have that opportunity. Only God knows our hearts, and He will be the judge as to who will be resurrected or not. We do not know.
