when you go to church, it is not required that you be confirmed but when you are a catholic for a long time and have been married in the church it is most likely you have been confirmed at the age of fifteen to sixteen in the 10th grade. Yet, people who are not confirmed can still be active catholics. nowadays, anybody who is in the church and is under the age of fifteen will be confirmed when they are fifteen or sixteen. Although in the olden days ppl were like ten because my grandma was that young when she was confirmed.

when you are baptised you have a full membership into the Christian community. The bishop has to place hands on their head and prays. Then he says to that you will receive seven gifts of the Holy Spirit: reverence, understanding, courage, knowledge, wisdom, awe and wonder and right judgment. He then makes a sign of the cross on their head with oil. Its like getting christened all over again.
