Some argue that Christmas is the major celebration for all christians. In the end, it all boils down to which holiday you personally feel to be more important. The most important day, and the basis of Christianity is the fact that Jesus arose from the dead after 3 days in the tomb. So not necessarily Easter, but Resurrection day. Orthodox (or Eastern) Christians call it Pasha. This year it falls on the same day as "western" Easter. April 4.
