States don't have religions, people do. In the U.S. the state is not allowed to regulate what people believe. A large percentage of the people would say they are Christians. This does not necessarily mean that they believe and follow the teachings of Christ, but only that they were born into a Christian home, or that they were born to parents who were born into a Christian home. In other words, they are Christian because they are not Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, atheist, Jewish, or some other religion. There are also representatives of all the religions I just mentioned and more in North Carolina.
