A person, who for religious or other reasons does not eat meat is called a vegetarian. There are those go further and do not consume animal products eg. milk, butter, eggs or animal hides. These people are known as vegans. Some religions who refuse to eat meat are Buddhists, a percentage of Hindus, Sikhs, and the Hare Krishna faithful.
