What is the Promise of God the Father?

Luke 24:49 "And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued [clothed] with power [dunamis - inherent power] from on high."

When Jesus spoke of the promise of the Father, he referred to it as being endued with power from on high. He had previously explained that the gift God desires to give us is the holy spirit.

Luke 11:13 "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"

To receive the gift of holy spirit and be endued with power from on high, the apostles were to wait in Jerusalem.

Acts 1:4 "And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for [until] the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me."

Jesus also described the Father's promise as being baptized with holy spirit. To receive the gift of holy spirit is to be baptized with or in it.

Acts 1:5 "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."

After waiting in Jerusalem as instructed, the promise of the Father arrived. On the day of Pentecost, Peter declared how to receive the gift of holy spirit.

Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

First and foremost one need to understand that Christianity is not a region, its an opportunity. Second people need to understand from Jesus Christ we have a Father (not a god). This expels the false notions of mankind.

Our Father is the creator of all that we behold and his spirit moves in the whole of his creation. We are here in this flesh existence possessing freewill and the opportunity to get back into the good graces of our Father, a relationship which was damaged by Satan during the first earth iteration. Jesus Christ has shown us the pathway to earn our way back to a relationship with our Father. That is the gospel ... that is the good news, Jesus Christ offers us forgiveness from sin, so our slate is wiped clean and nothing is written in the book of life beside ones name at the occurrence of the final judgment (Revelation 20).

Many refer to this as being saved, however that term indicates it a single occurrence, when in fact it requires continual management.

Therefore, the promise of our Father is that he provided us a pathway back into his good graces, a pathway (opportunity) which occurs in Jesus Christ. All souls are welcome, none are excluded, regardless of what men determine or state.
