James 1:9, "Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted".

This can mean low degree in mind or condition, but here it is understood as condition.

He is a poor man, but he should rejoice because he is a member of Christ's body (The Church) and a child of God, and a heir of glory and is a brother even to the rich man.

If there is a command here it could be, Question: "What is the chief end of man? Answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.
