Well i don't know what is the difference but I know that they are similar in the way that neither exist.

Difference between god and spirit:To understand the difference between god and spirit we must know about the default semi voluntary mind.

The Semi voluntary/ Default mind:

In this there is a layer of voluntary force trapped between two layers of Involuntary force. Beyond the layers of Involuntary force are the positive and negative attitudes.

Attitudes are fences that prevent production of extreme emotions.

The semi voluntary mind has the following components, from above downwards.

1. Negative attitude

2. Positive self

3. 'I'

4. Negative self

5. Positive attitude.

'I' is under our control but Self and Attitudes are not.

'I' is the state in which all the skeletal muscles of the body have 50% tone. At negative attitude the tone is 100% and at the positive attitude it is 0%. However, we don't use the entire range of tone and use just a part around the 50% state. Thus, we may just use a tone range of 30% to 70%.

'I' is the reference state for our thinking and therefore all emotions are produced in reference to it only.

God:

If our life becomes highly emotional always, we can discard our 'I' and make a new reference state beyond our attitudes. We can have a set of rules for our new 'I'. If our entire society gives the same set of rules for its virtual 'I' then it would be called as god. Thus, god is universal virtual 'I'. Thus, god would be governing our day to day activities also.

Spirit:

Some times when our emotions are minimal we would be perfectly normal. However, when we become highly emotional the emotions may last for months also.

We may also lose satisfaction in life, and therefore we may do everything in an exaggerated way. We would be supposed to be possessed by a spirit.

In both the cases it is obvious that our 'I' is perfectly normal and it is our attitudes that have become defective. They are not reversing extreme emotions and thus not forcing us to return to our 'I'.

In this case we can create a virtual attitude, either positive or negative.

The virtual attitude is what we call spirit.

The spirit (virtual attitude) beyond our negative attitude would be beneficial to us because it would be giving us satisfaction. The spirit beyond our positive attitude, too would be beneficial to us because it would be absorbing all of our excessive emotions. However, if it is not put out of action at this stage it would start affecting our normal life also.
