Both are firstly ways to remember god and invoke positive cosmic energies. God is god in any religion; how we worship is different across religions. No religion teaches hatred and jealousy.

An arti is usually done at the end of a puja ceremony to finalize the puja. This is usually sung in the form of a prayer and is devoted to a specific Hindu god or goddess such as Durgaji, Lord Krishna etc. A puja could be in the form of a havan, which is a small vessel where a bonfire is lit. A puja is chanting of holy mantras (sacred deep-meaning prayer in Sanskrit language) which have environment purifying properties and can be considered as a condensed, concise form of prayer.

Hindu religion is deep and there are different ways of absorbing into day-to-day practical life using yantra, mantra and tantra.
