What is the difference between original sin and personal sin?

Original sin is the concept that through there disobedience toward God, Adam and Eve, took all of humankind out of communion with God and effectively opened the door for man to commit other sins.

Generational sin is the concept that my father's sin will carry over to me and I will be held responsible for his actions. Generational sin, responsibility for my father's actions, outside of Original sin, is explicitly rejected in scripture (Ez. 18:17ff).

To contrast the two, Original sin is separation from God that has occurred and remains until a person confesses their sins and accepts Jesus Christ's salvation and forgiveness and generational sin is an expression of "Christian Karma" that lacks Scriptural integrity.

Original Sin was committed by Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God and ate the fruit from the tree which they were not supposed to eat. Sins that are committed by an individual by not following the ten commandments can be forgiven through confessions. But the original Sin can only be wiped out from a person through Baptism.

Original sin is the fallen human nature that we all inherit because of the first, or "original" sin of Adam and Eve, when they ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We did not commit original sin, Adam and Eve did. We simply suffer the effects of it. Personal sin, on the other hand, is a sin that one actually commits. The guilt from original sin is not our fault. The guilt from personal sin is.
