This doesn't really make sense, since the name is an Arabic one and written differently in Arabic--there is no single corrrect way to spell it in English. People name their children after Prophet Muhammad (God bless him and grant him peace) out of love and respect for him, and the hope that their children will be good, religious men. There's no reason for them to spell it differently--it should be spelled the same.
