What is the historical value of the Bible?

As a book it is of little monetary value, what it contains is priceless. It contains the word of God to His children, passed on to us by His Prophets who were commanded "To write these things".

Archaeologist Dr. Clifford Wilson, in a multi-volume work has documented over 4000 specific instances where its accuracy has been verified by Archaeology. Many additional discoveries have been made since the publishing of this work

Jewish archaeologist Nelson Glueck has stated that not one single detail of The Bible record of history has ever been categorically refuted by a discovery of archaeology. This means that where a discovery appears to conflict with the Bile, it may well be the interpretation that is placed on the discovery and not the Bible itself.

The Bible has repeatedly been proven accurate where it was thought to be in error. The non-existence of both the Hittites and the ruler Belshazzar being two examples. We now have whole museums with Hittite artefacts and Belshazzar was indeed a ruler in Babylon right at the end of its history as a power.
