Scientology is a self based religion the focuses on self improvement and the individual molds his own existence in the organization, There is a large empasis on the spirtual being as an actual physical part of the body as opposed to the more symbolic one found in other religions. Scientology teaches to not take everything as belief or on faith alone but to decide for yourself what you believe in.
