In this world the main feast of modern professing "Christianity" would probably be a toss-up between "Christmas" and "Easter," regardless of the fact that God's Word, The Bible, doesn't mention nor command "His Faithful servants" to observe either one.
When the LORD and King, Jesus Christ [the Almighty LORD and Creator God of the Old Testament - John 1:3], returns to earth, however, He is going to issue an edict that will command ALL THE NATIONS OF THE WORLD observe the FEAST OF TABERNACLES every year for A THOUSAND YEARS!
"And the LORD shall be KING over ALL THE EARTH: in that Day shall there be One LORD, and His Name One." (Zech.14:9 KJV)
"And it shall come to pass, that EVERY ONE THAT IS LEFT OF ALL THE NATIONS [not just Christians] which came against Jerusalem SHALL EVEN GO UP FROM YEAR TO YEAR [for the entire duration of His thousand year rule] TO WORSHIP THE KING, the LORD of hosts, and to KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES. And it shall be, that whoso will NOT come up of ALL THE FAMILIES [nations] OF THE EARTH [not just Christians] unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain [they won't have crops and they won't eat].
"And if the family [nation] of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of ALL NATIONS that come not up to KEEP THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES..." (verses 16-19).
The Bible doesn't reveal a special list of "feasts for Christians, only!" It only lists the FEASTS OF THE LORD for GOD'S PEOPLE... [in Leviticus 23] whom the Bible reveals is open to and intended for "all the families [nations] of the earth" who possess the FAITH OF ABRAHAM through Jesus Christ:
"Know ye therefore that THEY WHICH ARE OF FAITH, the same are the CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM." (Gal.3:7)
Therefore, anyone, through Faith in Jesus Christ, is bound by Promises God gave Abraham, to observe the feasts of Abraham's God... the LORD Jesus Christ:
"...Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be HOLY CONVOCATION [commanded assemblies], EVEN THESE ARE MY FEASTS." (Lev.23:2)
The "feasts of God" are HIS FEASTS... not the feasts of "Christians" or "the Jews" or "mine" or "yours" or anyone else's.
"And YE [all who profess Faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, the Creator God of the Old Testament] SHALL KEEP IT [the Feast of Tabernacles] A FEAST UNTO THE LORD seven days a year. It shall be A STATUTE FOR EVER IN YOUR GENERATIONS [a binding, never ending statute upon all of Abraham's children, forever]... Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born [whether born by Abraham's blood or re-born and adopted into Faithful Abraham's family by the Blood of Christ] shall dwell in booths: that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt [the 'exodus' from Egypt is symbolic of Christ bringing man out of his bondage to SIN by His shed blood]: I AM the LORD your God. And Moses declared unto the children of Israel THE FEASTS OF THE LORD[not the feasts of the Jews]." (verses 41-44)
The Feasts of the LORD listed in God's Divinely-inspired Word are ultimately for ALL OF MANKIND... all the families [nations] on the earth. With God, there are no other gods or religions [there is no Islam or Christianity or any other religion]. No other gods but HIM:
"Thou shalt have no other gods before Me."
So, the "main feast" for so-called "Christians" should be "The Feast of Tabernacles." Which the LORD and King Jesus Christ will command to be observed by ALL NATIONS [for there won't be any religions] all during His thousand year rule.
The name "Christians" is a religious moniker first given to that group of God's disciples anciently taught by Paul in Antioch... given to them by the unconverted, heathen, pagan Gentiles in the town who were resentful of their friends and relatives being converted by God - Acts 11:26. It's a label given by men, that eventually turned into the name of another of this world's religions; and is not a name of God's choosing.
So-called "Christians" are [or should be, if they believe in accordance with God's Word] just "people who have been given the Faith of Abraham"... and who are subsequently bound forever by God's statutes that Abraham himself kept and observed... and by which God [Jesus Christ] declared him RIGHTEOUS!
"Because that Abraham Obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My Commandments, My STATUTES, and My Laws." (Gen.26:5)
"Now to Abraham and his Seed were the Promises made. He saith not, 'And to seeds,' as of many; but as of ONE. 'And to thy Seed, WHICH IS CHRIST. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the Law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the Promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the Law, it is no more of Promise: but God gave it to Abraham by Promise." (Gal.3:16-18)
"...ye are all the Children of God by FAITH in Christ Jesus... and if ye be Christ's, then ARE YE ABRAHAM'S SEED, and HEIRS according to the Promise." (verse 29)
And so, the "feasts" of so-called "Christians" should be the "Feasts of the LORD" listed in His Word in Leviticus 23... not the pagan observances handed down to our deceived generation, like the Saturnalia [referred to today as 'Christmas']... or the Vernal Equinox, the pagan worship of the goddess of fertility Ishtar [pronounced 'Easter'].
But the world will have to wait until Christ returns before it learns that everyone's had all their feasts wrong throughout the generations. It will have to wait until the LORD and King Jesus Christ issues His Divine and Royal edict for ALL NATIONS to observe the Feast of Tabernacles and worship Him on His throne in Jerusalem in that Day.
The two main feasts of Muslims are Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha.
Yes. Nearly every religion has ritual feasts.
Only Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and maybe Coptic churches do this.
I guess it depends on what type of christian you are. There are SO many different beliefs out there, but I'd have to say as a generalization...not usually are the feasts celebrated by a "christian". Although a "completed Jew", a Jew who believes that Jesus was more than a prophet, may practice both Jewish traditions and christian traditions. LOL, Hey man Christians drop ten tons of food just because it's Sunday brunch but there are no specific feasts. I know Catholics seem to need all that symbolism and practices.
The two major feasts in the church year are Christmas and Easter. Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, and Easter commemorates his resurrection from the dead. These feasts are significant events in Christianity and are widely celebrated by Christians around the world.
By having feasts, large gatherings, entertainment. Similer to modern day activity. Hope I helped
They didn't have to pretend they were Christians.
