A major purpose for Paul writing to the Romans was to put an end to the problem of Christian gentiles and Jews JUDGING one another. He wanted them to see that 'we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ' and will all be judged by the same standard (Romans 14:10; John 3:22-24). In short, Paul was saying God's justice knows no favorites!!
"For God does not show favoritism. All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who OBEY the law who will be declared righteous" (Romans 2:11-13)
He reminds us that ALL are guilty of sin and ALL must repent of sin - or the breaking of God's law. We all afterwards must be justified by Christ's blood to receive forgiveness by being baptized into Him and the laying on of hands, receiving the Holy Spirt to follow His example. THERE IS NOT OTHER PATH TO GAINING GOD"S FAVOR.
