There are no main place of worship for Islam. We can worship Allah s.w.t everywhere and at anytime. During standing, sitting, or lying on bed. Allah is The All-Seeing. Worship not only means performing Solah 5 times a day. Watching the stars and thinking about Allah's creations also means worship or specific name, zikr. Reading Al-Quran, donating half of of our belongings to the needy ones, fasting during Ramadhan.

But there's a place to unite all Muslims around the globe which is Mecca Al-Mukarramah.

Muslims can pray in any place. but mosque is preferred place of worship in Islam.

The temple of Muslims is called Masjid (or Mosque in English). Muslims are encouraged to go to Masjid for praying five times a day if they can afford it. However, on Friday, it is required for Muslims to go to masjid for Friday praying including listening to the Friday sermon.

As a hint on answer above: No saints per Islam religion and praying to saints or getting saints as mediators when praying to God is strictly forbidden.

Muslims; or followers of Islam per Qur'an revelation to prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him); are allowed to perform the praying ritual worship in any dry clean place including homes, offices, open air areas, or ships/flights during travel.

The correct term for a Muslim house of worship is called a Mosque.

The place of worship for Muslims is called mosque in English and Masjid in Arabic. In this place or building, Muslims gather for praying five times a day. There is a weekly gathering of Muslims in the Mosque (or Masjid) at noon on Friday where they listen to the Friday Sermon and then they do the Friday praying (that replaces the noon praying for other days).

Although Muslims go for ritual praying to mosque (or called Masjid), they can also practice their ritual praying anywhere: at home, office, open air, during flying, on a ship, or at any dry clean place on the ground. Ritual prayers are to be performed as a gathering with one leading the prayer. However, if praying in a gathering is not available then it can be done individually.

If the question refers by the word "worship" to only the ritual of praying (or salat in Arabic), then the place is called a MOSQUE. In Arabic, there are two names for such a structure: Jame'a (جامع) also Latinized in Turkish as Camii refers to a large Mosque and Masjid (مسجد) also Latinized in Turkish as Mescid which refers to a smaller community building. Muslims in the mosque; during praying; face the direction of Kaaba in Makkah (or Mecca) in Saudi Arabia.

It is at a Mosque that Muslims pray on a Friday and they can also pray there for the normal daily prayers as well. Additionally, they will meet there to study the Qur'an and often for social events as well.

In addition to mosques, Muslims are allowed licitly to pray in any other clean and dry place as office, home, stadium, or even open air areas. Many transportation hubs in Muslims countries (such as bus or train stations) have a Chapel (or Musalla in Arabic) which is a small area designated for prayer.

Additional Information: Holy Sites of Islam
Islam sees the entire world as a holy place in which worship can occur (with the exception of certain indoor spaces like bathrooms which are not clean or dry). However, there are certain places of additional holiness to which Muslims go to amplify the strength of their prayers or to feel closer to God .

The three biggest holy places are:

1. The Masjid al-Haram or Grand Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in which sits the Ka'aba or Black Cube. Muslims are required, if financially able, to visit the Ka'aba once in their lives in the pilgrimage known as the Hajj. The largest congregational open prayers are done in Mecca and Medina during the Hajj. Refer to related question below on how to perform the Hajj.
2. The Masjid al-Nabawi or the Prophet's Mosque in Medina/Yethrib, Saudi Arabia. (The city is known by both names.) This was the second mosque built in the history of Islam, and built adjacent to Muhammad's house in Medina/Yethrib. It established the proper shape and style of mosque building as well as being Muhammad's final resting place.
3. The Haram al-Sharif and the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock and the Distant Mosque in Jerusalem, Israel/Palestine. This is the place where prophet Muhammad was ascended to heaven as God miracle.

Additionally, there are famous mosques which hold great prestige or value such as the Jame'a Bani Umayya al-Kabir or the Great Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, Syria or the Jame'a Al-Azhar or Flower Mosque in Cairo, Egypt. There are also special mosques that are significant primarily to only Shiites such as Abbas Mosque, in Karbala, Iraq. These are called The "Ahl Al-Bayt".

Finally, the tombs of Sufi saints are also seen as limited holy places to Muslims and there are some towns, like Moulay Idriss, Morocco which have become sanctified due to the burial of an Islamic Saint.
