A person sins and they "get away with it" (not really because God knows all and sees all) so they sin some more before you know it they are slipping farther and farther away from God and it becomes easier and easier to sin. Picture yourself standing next to God and sin is like you walking away. You sin more and more and watch God disappear away from you in the distance except as you sin more and more you stop looking back.
