It was written by many (about 40) different men by the inspiration of God, over a period of about 1400 years.
How can we be assured it was written under the inspiration of God? These men were of many different professions, shepherd, king, prophet, tax-collector, fisherman, doctor. Many had no formal education. Even though the backgrounds were very varied and the time frame was great, the message is the same. All the authors agree on several different topics.
It's hard to find 40 different people, all living at the same time, that have the same profession that will agree on a topic.
