wukuf is an Arabic word (وقوف) meaning stopping.

in reading Quran it means doing a short stop between two word in some especial places of Quran while reciting Quran.

also it is name a especial ritual when doing Hajj in a place called Mashaar.

Difference between eid Al Adha and eid Al Fetr?

The celebration of 'Idul Adha takes place a day after wukuf, the day when Muslim pilgrims gather on the plain of Arafat near Mecca, for part of their Hajj rituals. This occurs on the 10th day of Zulhijjah (the twelfth month in the Islamic calendar). 'Idul Adha is also known as Celebration of the Sacrifice when Muslims worldwide offer sacrifices in the form of animals, the meat of which is given away to the poor and needy and friends and neighbours.'Idul Fitr on the other hand is celebrated on the 1st day of Syawal (the 10th month in the Islamic calendar), immediately after the end of the Ramadhan fasting month (the 9th month in the Islamic calendar). 'Idul Fitr is normally associated with joy and thankfulness to Allah to mark the end of one month of abstinence from food, water and other pleasure during one month of fasting in Ramadhan.
