The first human being to receive the Holy Spirit may well have been Abraham, father of the Hebrew nation. He was the first whose mind was opened to understand the existence of one invisible, ineffable God, the Creator. Abraham was also vouchsafed a theophany in the form of the king Melchisedek, a mysterious being who suddenly appears in the Abraham narrative, who knows Abraham, who describes himself as the "King of Peace" and whose very name means "righteous king." Melchisedek shares bread and wine with Abraham, an obvious precursor of the institution of the Eucharist by Christ on Passover evening shortly before his arrest, trial and crucifixion. The appearance of Melchisedek may have been the first recorded manifestation of the Son on this earth. It seems unlikely that the Son would have appeared to someone who was not filled with the Holy Spirit, and it also can be seen as a heavenly testimony of Abraham's importance in the Divine Plan whereby salvation for the world comes through the Jewish people.

When you receive the holy spirit where does he specifically dwell in the body?

I can not answer this as to where in the body the Holy Spirit dwells, mainly because I do not know specifically where in my body my spirit dwells. I do believe the Holy Spirit dwells in my spirit (wherever that is). Man's spirit is that part of me that relates to worship and divine communion with God. It could be that empty space in each man that God wants to fill with Himself.

Why is the holy spirit important in pentecostal worship?

A:The New Testament is replete with references to the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost), for example, 1 Thessalonians 4:8 : "He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit."To disbelieve in the Holy Spirit would therefore mean seeing the New Testament as theologically unreliable, which is a difficult position for a Christian to take. On the other hand, belief in the Holy Trinity is somewhat less fundamental to Christian faith.
