What miracles did Jesus do in nazareth?

The people were astonished because Jesus was raised as a carpenter's son. He was not educated, and definitely didn't have any of the taught knowledge that the priests and the Pharisees had at the temple. So when Jesus rose up and started teaching on deep spiritual concepts and issues, they were amazed because He was so eloquent and well spoken and informed about those issues.

Nazareth reacted very negatively toward Jesus. Matthew tells us the people who heard him there were dismissive and "offended" at Him (Matthew 13:54-58). Luke's account is more detailed, revealing that the people of Nazareth literally tried to throw Jesus off a cliff (Luke 4:16-30).

There are two reported instances of people being astonished or amazed by Jesus. In Mark 1:22 the people were astonished at what Jesus taught, for he taught as one with authority. In Mark 9:15 a great multitude was amazed at Jesus, but this time we are not told why. To the reader of Mark's Gospel, the reason for amazement is clear, as Jesus has just come down from the Transfiguration and from talking to Elijah and Moses, but the multitude is entirely unaware of this event. What is particularly unusual about the two events is that they form a pair (pair E) in the framework structure of Mark's Gospel:
