she was an amazing woman and she was a strong believer of the christian faith. Her goal was to help and that is what she did!
She was canonized at St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City.
Mary wanted the help the poor because she was not rich herself and she wanted to make people believe even if you are poor or rich you are equal.
The first miracle, which led to the beatification of Mary MacKillop, was the cure of another woman of leukaemia in 1961. In 1995 Pope John Paul beatified Mary MacKillop, earning her the title of Blessed (Mother) Mary.Mary MacKillop performed two miracles of reversing a woman's cancer and another woman's leukemia when they were both going to sadly die with nothing to save them.

Mother Mary Mackillops was a saint from Australia, she founded her first school there:from WikiPedia:Father Woods had been very concerned about the lack of education and particularly Catholic education in South Australia. In 1866, he invited MacKillop and her sisters Annie and Lexie to come to Penola and open a Catholic school. Woods was appointed director of education and became the founder, along with MacKillop, of a school they opened in a stable there. After renovations by their brother, the MacKillops started teaching more than fifty children. At this time MacKillop made a declaration of her dedication to God and began wearing black.
She was cross about what the bishop did(leader of the saints)so she sent the bishop a letter. The bishop was disapointed about what she wrote then called in a meeting and expelled her from the saints. Yet everybody loved her as if they treated her as a sister but the bishop called that if anybody talks to Mary they will to be expelled from the saints. Mary was lonely no sisters, no friends but then the bishop called her to have drugs though she did but she caught a stroke from it and parilylized the right side of her body and died in a few years.
Today only two miracles are required for canonization, only one if the person was a martyr. The two miracles credited to the intercession of Mary Mackillop that supported her canonization: The first miracle attributed to the intercession occurred in 1961, when Veronica Hopson suddenly recovered from myeloblastic leukemia, which had been deemed terminal by doctors. In 1993 Kathleen Evans was given two months to live by doctors due to advanced lung and brain cancer. Since chemotherapy and radiotherapy would have little result, Evans decided to allow nature to take its course without medical treatment. A friend gave Evans a photo of Mary MacKillop with a piece of the nun's clothing on the back and pinned it to Evan's nightgown. Shortly thereafter, Evans made a full recovery.
