For the next 40 years, Moses lived as an exile and a shepherd. Instead of letting himself be consumed with bitterness because his Hebrew brothers apparently did not appreciate him, Moses submitted to what God permitted. Although many years passed during which he received no apparent recognition, Moses allowed Jehovah to shape him. Not as a personal estimate, but under the influence of God's holy spirit, he later wrote: "The man Moses was by far the meekest of all the men who were upon the surface of the ground." (Numbers 12:3) Jehovah used Moses in outstanding ways. If we too seek meekness, Jehovah will bless us.-Zephaniah 2:3.

The original religious group known for being consumed by the spirit of God was the church, or body of believers in Christ, in Acts 2. It is mainly known as Pentecost. Pentecost is when those believers gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem waiting for what Jesus had foretold that a "helper" was going to be sent to them, which is the Holy Spirit. The evidence of this help came in the form of speaking in a heavenly language ("speaking in tongues") known only by God and the angels. Biblically speaking, when people use this prayer language, they are speaking the direct will of God. But, in some situations this prayer language can be used as a witnessing tool- as we see happen in Acts. Anyways, the people who were in the upper room included: (Acts 2:7-11) "Aren't all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? 9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs-we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!"

Out of these, the message spread through them and the apostle Peter. The people who believe that this gift of God is still relevant for today are called Pentecostals. And from that, religious differences dispersed them into denominations, such as UPC, Church of God, and the Assemblies of God.
