Africa is a continent made up of many different countries and peoples. There are many different religious beliefs and practices. Many deal with spirits, herbs and magical ceremonies. Ancestors often play an important role. The religious leader may be a healer, a priest [though this doesn't mean they are Christian], a person considered to be magic, or another variation along those lines. African religions are still being practiced today, just as they have been for hundreds of years. There are Christians and Muslims in Africa, but they are in the minority.
Wicca is a minority Ireland. Although religious practice has dwained in recent years, it is still very much a devoutly Christian country.

The cave paintings of Europe were long thought to have been simply art, or perhaps to teach the young about nature. However, some archaeologists now say that the positioning of each painting in relation to others and to the sun at the time of the winter solstice, is strong evidence that they were used as part of religious rituals 30,000 years old. If such sophisticated religious symbolism existed 30,000 years ago, it ought to be assumed that religious beliefs are much older.
Scientists believe that Africans reached America through a land bridge near Alaska, after many years of northward migration. Americans did not find the Africans, but Americans are believed to be descended from the humans that first evolved in Africa.
