As, presumably, the church meeting in question is attended by Christians, then the following should apply (as they do in my own church meetings): 1. They should be preceded and ended by prayer. This prayer should ask the Holy Spirit to guide and impart wisdom on those assembled there so that any decisions made can be assured to be the will of God. 2. Every member should be allowed their say, and given the courtesy of being listened to. 3. Items should be discussed in an atmosphere of love. 4. Too many church meetings are devoted primarily to finances. Instead, more emphasis should be placed on worship, mission (including the church's charitable giving to good causes), evangelism and pastoral care. 5. Finally decisions should seldom be put to a vote as this suggests some dissention, and suggests that some members may not be in accord with the will of God. If unanimous decisions cannot be made, then the item(s) in question should be postponed until a subsequent meeting whilst in the meantime the members pray about the decision. These items are not exhaustive, but give a general idea of a meeting of a church which is God-centred rather than people-centred.
