What should we do to go to heaven?

Jesus prophetically referred to being saved as being baptized with holy spirit.

Acts 1:5 "For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence."

For a person to be saved, he must confess Jesus Christ as Lord of his life and believe in his heart that God raised Christ from the dead.

Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

In becoming saved, a person is a child of God and is heaven-bound from that point on. He is baptized with holy spirit.

Ephesians 1:13,14 "… in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory."

Having received the holy spirit, we have confidence in knowing that our future in heaven is assured. We are free to accomplish God's desire for us to gain a thorough knowledge of the truth, fearlessly living His Word.

I Timothy 2:4 "Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth."

Surrender your life to God; Believe in your heart that He sent His only begotten Son: Jesus Christ that He may save you and confess with your mouth that He is Lord because he rose from the dead three days after his crucifixion to go back to heaven, so He can judge us.
Once you have done this, try to develop a personal relationship with your heavenly father, through reading his word (Bible), praying ( personal encounter with God), and you will probably find useful to turn aside from your old ways and find like-minded people to fellowship with (Bible teaching church).
After this, it's all about working out your own salvation with fear and trembling, knowing that the love of God never fails and He will never leave you nor forsake you so when you will be absent from the body, you will indeed be close to Him (in heaven).

The seven steps to heaven are what christens believe you need to do before you may enter heaven. they are, hear, believe, repent ,confess, be baptized, live a faithful life. I do not have time to write them all, but you get the point, being good! :D

The beliefs about this vary, depending on the religion - and ultimately, it is up to you to decide what you want to believe; perhaps what belief you find more logical, etc. In general, to go to heaven, such beliefs require you to be good to other people, or to obey certain other laws (which, of course, vary depending on the religion), or (in the case of many Christian denominations) simply to believe in Christ.
