Antisemitism is the word commonly used to describe a person or persons who have a hatred of the Jewish people. It's an inaccurate term of course as many semitic peoples are not Jews or Hebrews. Arabs are a semitic people as one example.

Most common is the term Anti-Semitism. In recent years some have suggested the term Jewaphobia or 'Jew-Hate' be better fitting.

Judaism, often a misunderstood religion by Non-Jews, has been the direct target of bigotry, hateful remarks, and acts of violence.

The fear of Judaism is what sparked some terrible situations in World History, and also in very recent months. The Spanish Inquisition, The Holocaust, and the rise of Islam have misplaced large Jewish Communities- and in some cases- forced conversion to Catholicism or Islam. In the above mentioned cases (according to Jewish History and personal testimony) the"converts" who converted by the sword did not accept the "forced conversion religion", but gave it only lipservice. To this day, the Biblical holiday of Yom Kippur, begins with a "confession of vows" ceremony added to the Ancient Liturgy in Midievel Times. The ceremony was added to allow the "fake converts" (those forced by the sword) to publicly confess anything done to forsake Judaism. This ceremony is called Kol Nidre, and remains in the Yom Kippur Observences to remind all Jews of the price paid by their ancestors under the hands of Hateful rulers.

Fear of Jews has existed in history literally as long as there has existed Jews.
