Another thesis begging. Religion as a generic subject is not the basis for better social values AND happiness.
Following on from the principle that they all differ, therefore either they are ALL wrong, or else only one is right... (which, only the ignorant will attest is incorrect) false religion may bring about an improvement in civilization of former barbaric cultures, but only a true religion ought to be able to produce genuine, lasting happiness. Especially where that religion emphasizes the presence of the/a portion of that Deity within. For; a person following a false religion may ATTEST that they are happy, but then; in truth, they may ACTUALLY be unhappy, as the blind following of any amount of good precepts will never substitute the joy which (ought) to accompany communion with the Divine.
Putting it another way, it is ludicrous to consider a system based on philosophy or false religion can produce more genuine happiness and joy, than a system which not only ascribes to the highest ideals, but also permits a sharing of the love/joy/happiness which only a true God/s would possess.
