If we peer into The Bible book of Genesis, it explains what mankind's role is supposed to be. Adam and Eve were to dominate the animal population and fill the earth with people. They were to love each other and love their creator, worshipping him only. As long as they obeyed God, they would have everlasting life on a perfect earth.
