What will change after a boy's bar mitzvah?

After they become Bar Mitzvah, Jewish boys are responsible for all the commandments of the Torah/Bible. They are supposed to eat kosher food, honour the Sabbath, celebrate holidays, and many more. Many non-observant Jews do not follow all these rules, it really depends on their level of observance. But really, the meaning of becoming Bar Mitzvah is becoming an adult and becoming responsbile for your actions and choices.

From the day he turns 13, he is considered a man and all the commandments are required of him. If he has been brought up in an observant home, he will have been trained for this from childhood, so he more or less carries on as usual. This with the exception of prayer as for a congregation to be able to pray all the prayers 3 times a day, there must be at least 10 men present. 10 men are called a "minyan". A boy of 13 is now one of the essential 10 and he is obliged to take part in a minyan and is also of age to read out from the Torah at Tora readings. These take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Sabbaths and on special holydays.

He can be a full-fledged member of the Jewish community. He is considered part of a quoraum of 10 members. Many prayers cannot be said unless there is a quorum, so this is very significant. He is obliged to fast on the fast days, he can read from the Torah.
