We can not be to certain of what wood was used for the calcification of Jesus Christ. but one thing is very clear that the Romans were expect in crucifying people. And as they had to be on the cross for many hours till they die, the wood had to be very strong indeed.

And what wood was used is not mentioned in The Bible.

Was jesus nailed to an olive tree?

No; a cross made of unknown wood was carried by Christ (and a "Simon"). However, your imagery here is spiritually accurate; many parallels are drawn between "cross" and "tree" in commentary, and even in Scripture. While the wood used to make the cross is unknown, Jewish tradition and historical evidence holds that it was made of almond wood, trees that were in abundance near and around Jerusalem.

What are the differences between a rip cut and a cross cut when it comes to woodworking techniques?

In woodworking, a rip cut is made along the length of the wood grain, while a cross cut is made across the width of the wood grain. Rip cuts are used to cut wood into narrower pieces, while cross cuts are used to cut wood into shorter pieces. Each type of cut requires different tools and techniques to achieve the desired result.
