It i widely believed that Archangel Gabriel visited Muhammad to deliver a message from Allah. Allah is the Arabic word for God.
He received a message from an archangel named Gabriel, and after Gabriel told him to tell everyone about Islam, he took it upon himself to be the first one to spread it and believe it since an angel told him about the religion.
The Angel Gabriel commanded Muhammad to "Read" or "Recite" (the Arabic word "Iqra") during their first encounter in the cave of Hira. This command initiated the revelation of the Quran, with Gabriel conveying messages from God to Muhammad over 23 years. The command emphasized the importance of knowledge, literacy, and the divine message that would shape the foundation of Islam.

Muhammad saw the angel Gabriel for the first time in 610 CE, when he received his first revelation. He began publicly spreading his message around 613 CE. Therefore, approximately three years passed between the initial revelation and the start of his public preaching.
The angel Gabriel, known as Jibril in Islamic tradition, appeared to Muhammad in a cave called Hira, near Mecca. This encounter occurred during Ramadan, when Gabriel conveyed the first revelations of the Quran. He is described as having a powerful presence, sometimes taking on a human form, and delivering God's message directly to Muhammad, marking the beginning of his prophethood. This moment is significant in Islam, as it signifies the start of Muhammad's mission to spread the teachings of Islam.
