The true gap theory is when Satan was cast out of heaven. In verse one God created the heavens and the Earth: God created the earth for Satan (who was named Lucifer); God created the earth with all the precious jams and stones.

When Satan rebelled he was cast out of heaven.

Well, based on the Moslem religion, the Satan was commanded by God to kneel for the Adam. And he refused. Since then, Satan was a very arrogant living. So he was kicked out of heaven. But before he did, he want God to let him to disturb the religions by telling humans to do bad things so they would get sins and go to hell with Satan after the judgment day. So it happened very early, before everything happen. When Adam born from heaven.

Christians believe Satan was one of the Archangels, or at least one of the highest and brightest angels, but the Bible does not state anything about when Satan was cast out of Heaven. Nor does it mention anything about Satan being required to kneel before Adam. All Christians can be certain of is that Satan was the one who caused Adam and Eve to sin.

It staggers human imagination, the destructive impact an angelic army would have on a planet, smashing into it like a massive bolt of lightning.

"...and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him..." (Rev.12:9).

At the very least, it would have to cause the earth to become "without form" (tohuw - desolate, a worthless thing) and "void" (bohuw - a vacuity, empty, an undistinguishable ruin). (Strong's Definitions)

So, it seems logical that Satan was cast out before man was created. If it happened after man's creation, it's doubtful there would be anyone left on earth to inquire into it.

In Jewish belief, Satan was never thrown out of heaven, because he is thought of as God's loyal assistant, tasked with testing the righteousness of the faithful.

This may seem strange to those who believe that Isaiah chapter 14 describes Satan's fall from heaven. Isaiah chapter 14 refers to the king of Babylon, who laid the nations low. It talks of his pomp and splendour, how he had ruled the nations in anger, and his fate after his overthrow by the king of Persia. He had compared himself to the Morning Star (and was thus derisorily called 'Lucifer' - lucem ferre, which mean "light-bearer", a name for the dawn appearance of the planet Venus) and had thought that he would ascend into heaven and sit among the stars, but was now himself persecuted. Christian scholars misunderstood this text and assumed that it referred to Satan or the devil, but this is a view that Judaism has never agreed with. The Old Testament does not answer the question for Christianity, of when Satan was thrown out of heaven.

So, this is a question for Christianity to answer, without recourse to the Hebrew scriptures. The tradition of Satan being thrown out of heaven may well be based on that misunderstanding of Isaiah 14, in which case the question is unanswerable. Certainly, it is not possible to attribute any particular time to this tradition.

It is indeed the New Testament that sheds light on the Old. According to Daniel, he who recorded his visions freely admitted that he didn't understand much of what he was writing.

"...I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but NONE UNDERSTOOD IT." (Dan.8:27)

"...I heard, but I UNDERSTOOD NOT: then said I, O Lord, what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for THE WORDS ARE CLOSED UP AND SEALED till the time of the end. Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but THE WISE SHALL UNDERSTAND." (Dan.12:8-10)

If one of the recorders of God's Word had trouble understanding the things that he "saw" and of which he wrote... then, no one else is going to understand them, either. Not even the "Jews," who were charged with their "preservation"... not their interpretation.

It wasn't until Jesus Christ came and qualified to depose Satan's deceptive authority on earth and become its future King, that those "sealed Words" of the Old Testament were laid open and revealed for the "end time wise" to understand.

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God [the Father] gave unto Him, to SHEW UNTO HIS SERVANTS THINGS WHICH MUST SHORTLY COME TO PASS... blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for THE TIME IS AT HAND." (Rev.1:1-3)

"...SEAL NOT THE SAYINGS OF THE PROPHECY OF THIS BOOK: FOR THE TIME IS AT HAND." (Rev.22:10)

"...I saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, SEALED WITH SEVEN SEALS." (Rev.5:1)

According to God's Word, the "fear of the Lord" is the beginning of "wisdom." [Prov.9:10] These are the "wise" God speaks of in the end time who will "understand" what Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and the other prophets wrote. And it will only be because of their faith in Jesus Christ and their belief in what He says.

According to Christ [unless He's a pathological liar] Moses andl the Prophets wrote and the Psalms were written about Him:

"...all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and IN THE PROPHETS, and in the Psalms, CONCERNING ME. Then OPENED HE THEIR UNDERSTANDING, THAT THEY MIGHT UNDERSTAND THE SCRIPTURES... (Luke 24:44-45).

Thousands of Jews lived throughout Judaea in those days... and none of them understood the scriptures they grew up with and were trained by. Not even Jesus' own disciples... until He opened and revealed that understanding to them... specially, personally, intimately and privately.

Not a lot is said about Satan in the Old Testament. And it wasn't until Jesus successfully defeated him in the forty days of "temptation" that Jesus was free to talk openly about the one He had deposed as "ruler over the earth." He is now its King... and Satan's "days are now numbered."

And it wasn't until after that that "the Kingdom of God" began to be preached by its King.

Jesus did indeed declare: "I BEHELD SATAN AS LIGHTNING FALL FROM HEAVEN." (Luke 10:18)

The battle is alluded to in Revelation 12, an inset chapter, which summarizes Satan's activities from the beginning of creation through the end of the age and the coming Great Tribulation that Jesus describes in Matthew 24:9-29.

In this 12th chapter of Revelation, we find by the fourth verse, the "Dragon's tail" [Satan - verse 9] drawing, convincing, coercing the "stars" [angels - Rev.1:20] of God into his rebellion with him.

The evidence, then, is that Satan was "thrown out of heaven" in the beginning.

Further evidence is Jesus' Words, regarding Satan, to a group of Jews who "believed on Him": "Ye are of your father the Devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. HE WAS A MURDERER FROM THE BEGINNING..." (John 8:44).

Further evidence is in the Genesis account where we are told that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth - Gen.1:1. Then we are informed that the earth experienced a distruction that left it "formless and void"... a vaccuous ruin - [verse 2].

This is revealed before the rest of the Genesis account where Christ remakes the ruined earth in six days to sustain man, whom He makes on the sixth day.

So, this and other scriptures form a picture of a perfect creation of the universe in the beginning where all was in harmony and peace, until one of God's trusted angels, Lucifer, corrupted himself with thoughts and intents of usurping God's authority and power and taking over the universe by deposing God on His throne in heaven. [it reads like many fantasy and sci-fi tales that are still told today in movies and books - good against evil].

In Isaiah's chapter 14, the king of Babylon is a "type" of Satan, seeing as how all the governments of men are his.

"...the Devil... sheweth Him ALL THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD... and saith unto Him, ALL THESE THINGS WILL I GIVE THEE, if thou wilt fall down and worship me." (Matt.4:8-9)

It's a misunderstood Old Testament account of the thoughts that ran through Satan's mind and heart prior to his actual launch of his plan to invade God's throne in heaven in the beginning. And the leader of the first of Satan's world-ruling governments of men, the king of Babylon, is named in the "proverb" as a representation of the powerful Lucifer.

So, the biblical [mostly New Testament] light-shedding evidence from Jesus Christ [for the end time wise to understand] points to Satan being cast out of heaven in the beginning, sometime following the initial creation of the angels of God and the universe, sometime after which their being cast down to earth destroyed the earth. Then, Jesus Christ, the WORD of God [John 1], who saw Satan as lightning fall to earth, sometime later, REcreated the earth... after which man was created.

He wasn't cast into hell yet. At the beginning of time, he tried to overthrow God and was cast out of heaven, down to Earth. He is still here today until Jesus comes back and then he will be cast into hell.

In Revelation, it states Satan and his following angels were kicked out at the mid-point of the Tribulation. Was he also sent to earth prior to that time? Was it he who indwelt Judas? Was it he who indwelt the serpent I never the Garden to deceive Eve?
