When was christ named as Jesus?

The name of Jesus Christ is a combination name and title. Jesus was a popular name, used by others at the time. In Hebrew it is Yeshua, and means "salvation." Matthew 1:21 says that an angel appeared to Jesus' father Joseph in a dream, assuring Him of God's plan for Mary's Child, and instructed that the Child be named Jesus, which is seen as a variant but fulfillment of the prophesied name Immanuel, which also means "God with us" (Isaiah 7:14). So Matthew 1:25 says that Joseph called Mary's child Jesus, as instructed.

Passages such as Matthew 16:16 and Matthew 26:63 show that Christ is a title, the Greek rendering of the Hebrew title Messiah. In Matthew 16:17, Christ accepted Peter's attribution of the title to Him as accurate-only one of many passages where Jesus claimed Messiahship and equality with God.

The Roman soldiers who were scourging him dressed him in a crown of thorns and a royal robe and mocked him by calling him King of the Jews, which they also wrote at the top of the cross on which he as crucified.

When Jesus enters Jerusalem the people gather and call out:

Luk 19:38 saying: " 'BLESSED IS THE KING WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

The Jewish people were looking for a king to deliver them from the Romans they thought Jesus was going to be this king.

In the next verse Jesus says to Pilate He is a king:

Joh 18:37 Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

Also in the New Testament Jesus is called the king of kings:

1Ti 6:15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
