King Herod lived in Judea at the time of Jesus' birth.
No
No, Jesus didn't live in Assyria. He lived in the Roman province of Syria, in the principality ruled by of Herod Antipas.
Supposedly in Bethlehem initially; unfortunately there is not documentation of a town named Bethlehem in any historical records. Then they lived for a time in Egypt, then Nazareth before he went on the road full time.
They fled to Egypt to escape the murder of the boy children of Bethlehem by Herod. After King Herod died, they went to Nazareth to live because they came from Nazareth in the first place. Luke 2, Matthew 2.
According to Scripture :Herod, the king of JudaeaYes..he ruled Jeruselem, according to biblical accounts at Jesus`s birth where he comissioned The Magi to locate this promised child. He was in power while they arrested Jesus whome was in his mid thirties.According to Flavius Josephes he was living in his compound with his sisterwhome encountered several failed marrages. Many Royals under turbulance from the Romans would have allied for their survival.Josephus accounts his sister eventualy married the Pope..King Herold never married.Unless we are speaking about more than one Herold he must have lived to a ripe old age. Ill have to check the dates on that.
In Matthew 2:13-23, Joseph is told in a dream to go to Egypt because King Herod wanted to kill him. If you recall the story of the Magi, they were originally sent by Herod as well, but they avoided him instead of telling him where Jesus was. Herod was jealous that there would be another king rising up among the people, which is why he wanted Jesus dead. So Joseph moved to Egypt to protect his family.
r u talking about king herod in the bible if that is it well he lived in bethlem i think buy the bible and check it
Joanna, wife of Chusa, the steward of King Herod, lived in the first century in Jerusalem.
Matthew's Gospel Bethlehem was the home town of Joseph and Mary. After the birth of Jesus they fled to Egypt, for fear of King Herod. They returned after some years, following the death of Herod, but being warned in a dream, turned aside and went to Nazareth in Galilee. This journey would have taken place some time after 4 BCE and before Archelaus was deposed in 6 CE.Luke's GospelNazareth was the home town of Joseph and Mary. Shortly after the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem, they went to Jerusalem to present Jesus in the Temple, then returned home immediately to Nazareth. According to this gospel, Mary probably always lived in Nazareth, apart from the family's short absence in Bethlehem.
Matthew 2 tells about the wise men comming to see Jesus in Bethlehem. The wise men talk to King Herod and tell him they are looking for the saviour. Herod tries to trick the wise men into revealing where the saviour is but the wise men are warned in a dream and don't see Herod again. Herod realizes the wise men have tricked him and so he plans to kill all male children under two years old. Joseph is warned in a dream and him and Mary their son go to live in Egypt until Herod dies.
We can safely say that king Herod lived all over Judaea. Herod was a great builder and palaces were included in his projects. Jerusalem, Masada, Caesarea, all had palaces where Herod lived, and there were probably more scattered around the countryside. We can safely say that king Herod lived all over Judaea. He was born there. He was to be born in his father's hometown, Nazereth, but could not, because of King Herod's decree to kill him. His parents moved his birth place to Bethlehem. According to the Biblical record Jesus was born in Bethlehem due to the census decree made by Augustus. (It would not be possible or plausible for a murder decree to have been issued by Herod before Jesus was born and before the Magi from the East had made his birth known, nor would the baby Jesus himself have had any input into these matters)
