Where are the scriptures that state that Saint Anne was Mary's mother?

It doesn't, but church tradition teaches that Anna was the mother of the virgin Mary... Thus People prayed to Anna who interceded with Mary who interceded with her Son who interceded with God for sinful men.

A:The notion that Anne was the mother of Mary, and that Joachim was her father, is a Christian tradition rather than a historical fact. While no New Testament book supports this view, it probably originates in the Proto-Gospel of James which was enormously popular among Christians right through the Middle Ages, even if it was never included in the New Testament canon.

In more recent times, to avoid some of the conflict between the genealogies in Matthew and Luke, it has become fashionable to say that Heli was the father of Mary, based on Luke's Gospel which does not say who Heli's wife (and therefore presumably Mary's mother) was.

As stated above, the names for Mary's parents, Anne and Joachim, come from the apocryphal Gospel of James which is not canonical and may be in error. However, lacking any other source for the names of Mary's parents, the names stuck. We know for certain that Mary had both a mother and a father. What their names actually were, we can not be certain but they have been known as Joachim and Anne from the very early years of Christianity. Biblical scholars are uncertain if the 2 genealogies of Jesus mentioned in scripture are of his maternal or paternal side.
